4th stimulus check 2022 – A surprise direct deposit payment of $850 could arrive in June – see if you qualify.
If the state governor’s proposal is approved, residents in Maine could soon receive a surprise payment of $850.
According to WGME, Maine Governor Janet Mills wants to return some of the state’s budget surplus to the people.
Maine has a budget surplus of $822million.
A two-thirds majority in the legislature is required for the proposal to pass.
“While I cannot control the impact of COVID-19 on global markets, I can ensure that we provide Maine residents with the resources they need to deal with these rising costs as we build a stronger, more sustainable economy,” Mills said in a state address to lawmakers.
The checks could be distributed as soon as June if they are approved.
If payments are approved, there is now a push to send them out even faster by sending them electronically rather than by paper checks.
