Following a stay in a psychiatric facility, Amanda Bynes will be placed under a legal conservatorship until January 2023, according to new legal documents obtained by The Blast on Monday. After reading a sealed report filed by her legal team and deciding to extend her conservatorship, the She’s the Man actress, 35, will remain under the supervision of the courts and her doctors. After meeting at a rehabilitation facility, Bynes announced in 2020 that she was engaged to boyfriend Paul Michael and that she was expecting their first child together. Bynes announced her pregnancy on Instagram, captioning a photo of an ultrasound with her name and the date March 17 as “Baby on board..” “She was not expecting” and had been seeking treatment for “ongoing mental health issues” while living in transitional housing, her attorney said in a statement in May. Bynes is also pursuing a bachelor’s degree in fashion design and merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. Michael told E! in December 2020. He and Bynes were “doing great” and planning their future together once they were able to live together, according to reports. “Every day, we go for walks and work, and we like to get coffee and talk about one day living together.” “In this pandemic, we are limited in what we can do, even if we want to do more,” he told the outlet. “[We plan on] spending the holidays together as a family for a family dinner, as well as planning our wedding after we move in together. ”
“We take good care of each other, we’re understanding of one another, she’s a good listener, and we’re there for each other,” he added. “We’re having a blast, and I’m loving every minute of it.” She’s the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me. The conservatorship of the What a Girl Wants actress has an impact on her ability to marry Michael, as the legal system requires her parents to sign off on any marriage, which they were reportedly not ready to do at the time of her February 2020 engagement.
