Andrew Le Page, a Love Island contestant, underwent surgery two months ago for an undisclosed issue.

On Monday (May 30), Andrew, a Dubai-based estate agent, was revealed as one of the show’s new singletons.

Andrew, 27, said he had surgery for a “not very serious” issue before his appearance, and he shared a photo of himself hiking in Dubai on Instagram.

“Easy to see, difficult to catch,” he wrote in the caption.

“I’m on the mend and looking forward to getting back out there exploring.”

“The surgery isn’t anything major or life-threatening; it’s something I’ve wanted for a long time, and I’ll explain what I’ve had in due time, but I just wanted to express my gratitude for the love I’ve received from everyone who has messaged me #biglove xx.”

Andrew explained why he’s so excited to visit the villa in an interview.

“Because I’m actually single for a change, I figured why not?” Andrew, from Guernsey, explained. This is the best opportunity to try it.”

He also stated that he believes he is a good catch and that he is “very loyal” when he is with someone.

“When I’m with someone, I’m all for them,” he continued.

Andrew also admitted to having a romantic side, revealing that he once surprised an ex-girlfriend with a lavish trip for her birthday.

“We went out to dinner for her birthday with my ex,” he explained. I pretended I had nothing for her, and she was irritated. ‘We’re actually going to Paris tomorrow,’ I blurted out. “That pleased her greatly!”

Andrew will share the villa with Gemma Owen, the daughter of former England footballer Michael Owen.

Indiyah Polack, a hotel waitress, will be among the others looking for love after being “single for some time.”

“I feel like it’s quite hard for my generation of people to date without being influenced by social media and stuff like that,” Indiyah said, adding that the Love Island villa is a “closed space” that is ideal for meeting people.
