As Dortmund’s manager publicly apologizes to star after victory over Chelsea, Man Utd receives a transfer boost for Marco Reus.

Manager of BORUSSIA DORTMUND Edin Terzic has publicly apologized to Marco Reus, a target for Manchester United, for not starting him against Chelsea.

Karim Adeyemi’s game-winning goal helped Dortmund defeat the Blues 1-0 at Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday in the Champions League Round of 16.

Terzic, however, chose to start youngster Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and veteran Anthony Modeste over BVB captain Reus.

After full time, the German-Croatian tactician publicly expressed regret to the playmaker, but he insisted that he must “respect” that choice.

Terzic told DAZN: “Of course I’m deeply sorry.

Marco isn’t the only issue, though. We also had some other guys who weren’t interested.

“He has to respect it. But don’t accept it.

“He can demonstrate that he rejects it tomorrow in practice and the following few games.

However, he must now treat it with respect, just like everyone else.

Reus, one of the first Dortmund players to leave the field following the celebrations, “disappeared” down the tunnel, according to Bild.

The 33-year-old’s supporting role in the first leg may have boosted United’s transfer prospects because manager Erik ten Hag wants to give him a crucial position in his team.

Ten Hag has spoken with Dirk Hebel, the agent for the German international, about a potential transfer to Old Trafford.
