Asteroid 388945 2008 TZ3 LIVE — Nasa warns of a massive ‘potentially hazardous’ space rock approaching Earth in days.

A GIANT asteroid is hurtling through space on a course that will bring it within days of Earth.

The US space agency Nasa predicts that Asteroid 388945 (2008 TZ3) will pass close to Earth on May 15.

According to NASA, the asteroid will pass Earth around 21.18 UTC, or 5.18pm ET and 9.18pm GMT.

The massive space rock could be up to 1,608 feet wide. In comparison, the Empire State Building in New York is 1,454 feet tall.

Despite the fact that Asteroid 388945 will pass us by at a distance of about 3.5 million miles, it is still regarded as a potential threat.

When an asteroid approaches our planet within 4.65 million miles and is larger than a certain size, space agencies consider it “potentially hazardous.”
