At halftime of Arsenal’s match against Tottenham in the North London derby, Granit Xhaka apologized to his teammates.

Granit Xhaka, a midfielder for ARSENAL, is said to have apologized to his teammates during the first half of the North London Derby on Saturday.

With a 3-1 victory over rival Tottenham at the Emirates, the Gunners improved to seven wins from eight Premier League games.

But after 45 minutes, with the score tied at 1-1, Xhaka decided to apologize to the rest of the locker room.

The incident in question happened as Tottenham was preparing to score from the penalty spot to tie the score.

Just before Gabriel brought Richarlison down in the area, Xhaka failed to clear his lines.

Prior to Harry Kane executing the penalty shot beyond Aaron Ramsdale, Anthony Taylor gave the penalty.

The Mail claims that when the players returned from the break, Xhaka accepted responsibility for the goal.

Following Emerson Royal’s dismissal, he went on to make up for the mistake by scoring Arsenal’s third goal in the second half as they eliminated Spurs’ 10 men.

After losing his position as captain, Xhaka appeared destined to leave Arsenal in 2019.

His relationship with the Gunners supporters seemed to be in peril as a transfer seemed likely.

He has persevered at the club though, and is now an important member of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Arsenal is one point ahead of league champion Manchester City at the top of the Premier League standings.

Prior to hosting Liverpool at home on Sunday, they play host to Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday.
