Charlie Wyke of Wigan Athletic collapses in training ahead of a game against Cambridge United.


Charlie Wyke, a

Wigan Athletic forward, is in hospital after collapsing during training earlier this week. The incident occurred in the build-up to the club’s League One match against Cambridge United, according to the club.

Wyke was transferred to the hospital after receiving treatment from the club’s medical staff. He is currently in a stable condition. “First and foremost, the absolute priority for everyone associated with Wigan Athletic is Charlie’s health and wellbeing, and providing support to him and his family,” said Mal Brannigan, the club’s chief executive.
