Chelsea’ready to outbid transfer rivals’ for Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier, who is valued at £30 million.
According to reports, CHELSEA are “prepared to out-bid their rivals” in order to sign Illan Meslier from Leeds United.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper initially joined Leeds on loan from Lorient for the 2019 season, with the deal becoming permanent the following year for around £5m.
In the season they won promotion to the Premier League from the Championship, he played only 11 times.
Nonetheless, he has since established himself as their primary option and has missed surprisingly few matches.
He has played every single minute for Leeds this season, including the entire 4-2 victory away at Wolves yesterday.
If they avoid relegation, the Elland Road club would like to keep the Frenchman, but they have put a price tag of over £30 million on his head.
Manchester United have been keeping an eye on Meslier’s situation, as we previously reported.
Although Chelsea were rumored to be interested in signing him in January, interest from Newcastle has also been reported.
Now Football Insider says they are “prepared to out-bid their rivals” to sign Meslier this summer.
This season, Kepa Arrizabalaga has replaced Edouard Mendy as the Blues’ starting goalkeeper.

Mendy, at age 30, turned down a new six-year contract because the money didn’t compare to what Kepa was making.
This week marks the Senegalese international’s return to full training after he was sidelined for several months following finger surgery in January.
His future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain, though, as he heads into important contract negotiations with the club.
