Madeleine vanished in 2007 from her family’s Algarve vacation home in Praia da Luz.
The German, 45, has been named as a prime suspect, but detectives are also looking for a drifter friend, according to reports.
According to sources in Portugal, investigators are confident that the sex offender killed Madeleine, but that he or she did not act alone.
Christian B denies any involvement in the British child’s disappearance.
