Darwin Nunez’s withdrawal from the Uruguay squad with an unknown injury is a setback for Liverpool in their quest for the Champions League.

Liverpool’s hopes of making the Champions League could take a hit if DARWIN NUNEZ is unable to return from injury and play for Uruguay.

Since joining Jurgen Klopp’s squad in the summer for £85 million from Benfica, the South American forward has been an integral part of the team’s success.

In 20 games played in the league this season, he has tallied eight goals and three assists.

However, his time with the team may be winding down as the Uruguayan national teamconfirmed on social mediasince he sustained an injury and couldn’t travel with the team for the upcoming international break.

The Sky Blue will be playing two upcoming friendly matches against Japan and South Korea.

Reds fans will worry, even though we don’t know how serious his injury is, because he may miss some time.

Liverpool is currently in sixth place in the Premier League, seven points back of the teams qualifying for the Champions League.

After being blown out of the Champions League quarterfinals by Real Madrid, 6-2 on aggregate, their only chance of returning to Europe’s top competition is to finish in the top four.

The next three games for Klopp’s squad are against formidable opponents in Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

This week, the Merseyside club also learned that Stefan Bajcetic would be out for the rest of the season due to a thigh injury, and now Nunez has sustained the same fate.

Moreover, they have had trouble keeping a consistent roster ever since losing star player Luis Diaz in September.

Liverpool has struggled this season, a far cry from the teams that have won the Premier League and the Champions League in recent years while giving Manchester City a run for their money.
