According to reports, she was lighting candles for her slain son, who was killed on November 21 evening, according to her family. The police have yet to confirm whether the two shootings are linked. Was her death a gang-related crime? Cops discovered Tucker’s body lying on the sidewalk just before 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday while responding to a ShotSpotter alert. At Roseland Hospital, she was pronounced dead. There were no witnesses at the crime scene where her teenage son was shot and killed a few days ago by multiple bullets. According to Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan, Kevin was standing outside a home that had been targeted earlier in the day. However, police have not confirmed whether Tinker was also targeted. Her family described him as a “quiet boy” who said he wasn’t involved in any gang-related activities. Tucker’s death has not been linked to a gang, but according to The Washington Post, the neighborhood where she and her son were killed has seen at least 26 fatal shootings this year. Tucker lost her brother to gun violence two years ago and almost lost her 6-year-old daughter years before that, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. “It’s just sad that this whole family, basically, to be killed over time,” her pastor Donovan Price told the outlet.
