England fans are required to pay the same price for a pint as those in luxury hospitality, sparking a new World Cup beer dispute.

The FanZone’s regular patrons pay nearly the same for beer as some of Doha’s wealthiest tourists.

The VIPs residing at the opulent Marsa Malaz Kempinski Hotel in the Pearl district include the USA team.

There are also signs warning fans to hydrate and drink responsibly.

The hotel’s sports bar is selling a bucket of six 33cl cans of the official tournament beverage for £51.20, or £8.5 per can or 26p per cl.

A 50cl can costs £11.62 in the FanZone, or 22p per cl, in much less opulent surroundings.

Following the announcement that alcoholic beverages would not be sold in the World Cup stadiums, there was a great deal of outrage from fans attending games.

However, some of the £19,000 box seats were still available for purchase.

Prior to the competition, it was anticipated that FanZone attendees would pay less.

However, supporters have demonstrated how to sneak beer into World Cup matches.

Some people have hidden alcohol in Coke-Cola sleeves, and others have suggested adding alcohol to hydration packs.

Ecuador supporters chanted “We want beer” during their team’s 2-0 victory over the hosts in the tournament’s opening match. Enner Valencia, a former West Ham and Everton striker, scored both goals for Ecuador.

The news thаt there would be no wаter fountаins in the FаnZone аnd other аreаs only аdded to the rаge over the drinking situаtion.

Due to the extreme heаt in Qаtаr, this becаme а problem becаuse spectаtors would hаve to pаy for wаter bottles without the chаnce to refill them.
