Exploring the picturesque town that serves as the setting for the hit Netflix series Sex Education

Sex Education has received raving reviews from viewers thanks to the show’s excellent acting, clever scripting, and universal themes on Netflix.
However, the show is also shot in the heart of the Wye Valley, in the picturesque village of Symonds Yat.

As well as being the site of a beloved television series, the area depicted in this show is a popular tourist destination due to its picturesque landscapes, quaint winding streets, and idyllic woodland scenery.
Located in Herefordshire, England, next to the River Wye, Symonds Yat is a popular tourist destination because it provides the ideal rural retreat.
In addition, the village’s star quality serves as the setting for several memorable scenes in Sex Education.
And the Chalet that Jean and Otis call home on the show is an ideal place to begin.
The bright red Norwegian-style Chalet was made famous by Gillian Anderson’s cool and quirky sex therapist Jean and her son Otis, played by Asa Butterfield.
This stunning property, perched high above the River Wye, is best known as the setting for the hit TV series, but it is also available for rent in its own right.
The owners of The Chalet advertised the property as a vacation rental on their website because of its prominence in the Netflix hit series Sex Education.
The lodge can be yours for an eye-popping £3,680 for four nights.
A lot of scenes in which Otis and his pals are chilling out in the house’s various plush rooms were filmed there as well.
An inexpensive way to experience the same ambiance as Otis and Jean while they relax on their balcony is to take a stroll along the riverbank and take in the views of the Chalet and other landscapes featured in the show.
Yat Rock, offering unparalleled panoramas of the valley, is also conveniently located not far from Otis’s home.
It wasn’t the only significant scene in the show shot here.
Fans with more experience will likely recognize Tintern Abbey and the Wireworks Bridge.
In the first season, Otis breaks the news to Maeve on the bridge: “I’m a Virgin.”
However, many other scenes were shot in Symonds Yat, and you can see them for yourself on a day trip to the picturesque village, which is only an hour’s drive from Bristol.
There are many other beautiful tourist spots in the vicinity that you can visit during your stay.
Season 2 takes place in LLandogo, at the shop where Adam and Ola work (and where Remi resides).
A sign that actually exists not far from Symonds Yat was reportedly used in the film.
It’s a must-visit if you’re looking for a convenient snack during your trip.
Much of the action of the show takes place at a fictional high school, which was actually filmed on the abandoned Caerleon campus of the University of South Wales.
It’s only a 40 minute drive from the village.

The village, then, has excellent pubs and breathtaking scenery.
Any true devotee of Sex Education should mark this as a must-see.
