The long-awaited Netflix release of “The Sandman” is now available. The character Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), also known as Dream of the Endless and by many other names, is followed in “The Sandman,” based on the DC comic book of the same name. At the start of the narrative, Morpheus, the lord of The Dreaming and the living embodiment of dreams, is captured and held captive for almost a century. When he finally escapes, he must not only locate the strong items his captors have taken from him, but also rebuild his realm, which has fallen into ruin during his protracted absence. Some of his creations, including nightmares and horrors, have even gotten away. The story of Dream and his brothers is skillfully interwoven throughout mythology and history as the series goes on, thanks to Neil Gaiman’s masterful writing.
