How Much Time Passed Between Episodes 2 and 3 of “House of the Dragon”?


Throughout the course of the series, House of the Dragon makes a number of different time jumps. Rhaenyra and Alicent will be played by older actors by the middle of the first season. Nevertheless, there was a sizable time gap between episodes 2 and 3. This is roughly how much time has passed.

Episodes 2 and 3 of “House of the Dragon” are separated by three years.

In the opening scene of House of the Dragon, Queen Aemma passes away after giving birth to Prince Baelon via C-section. When she passes away in episode 2, Rhaenyra hasn’t spoken to her father, King Viserys, in six months. Viserys announces his intention to wed Alicent Hightower at the episode’s conclusion.

It’s important to note that there is a sizable gap in time between House of the Dragon Episodes 2 and 3. There have been about three years. At the beginning of the series, Rhaenyra and Alicent are just 14 years old. Viserys mentions that his daughter is 17 in episode 3. He is also committed to helping her find a husband.

Aegon celebrates his second name day in episode 3

In episode 3, Alicent is carrying King Viserys’ second child. Aegon, their first child, is about two years old. Aegon’s second name day, which is a little different from a birthday, is celebrated with a fantastic hunt that Viserys plans.

Unlike name days, which are collective holidays commemorated by national calendars, radio stations, and news outlets and during which people are honored simply for answering to particular appellations, birthdays honor people as a whole.

Additionally, there is pressure on Viserys to declare Aegon his heir and marry Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra, on the other hand, has no interest in getting married. Viserys assures her that he wants her to be his heir and wishes for her to find happiness in marriage.

The conflict at the Stepstones is also a major factor in the three-year time jump. Without assistance from the Crown, Prince Daemon and Lord Coryls have been battling the Crabfeeder and his men for three years. The king ultimately decides to dispatch aid.

A ten-year time jump will occur halfway through “House of the Dragon.”

Even more of a time jump of ten years will occur halfway through House of the Dragon. After that, Milly Alcock and Emily Carey’s roles as Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower will be replaced by Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cook.

Laena and Laenor Valaryon’s actors will also be replaced, but Daemon, Viserys, and the majority of the older characters will continue to be portrayed by the same actor. Throughout the prequel series, there may be additional smaller time shifts as well.
