In a terrifying attack, a young girl was dragged towards the bushes by a man.


A schoolgirl was “dragged towards bushes” by a man in broad daylight, prompting police to launch an investigation.

Officers are seeking information following an alleged assault in Essex’s South Ockendon and Aveley yesterday.


At approximately 5.10 p.m., a man approached the girl, who was reportedly dressed in school uniform, and attempted to drag her towards some bushes on Stifford Road.

According to a witness, her husband saw the scene while driving by and stepped in to assist.

She went on to say that the suspect fled the scene and that the girl was unharmed in the attack, which police confirmed. “We are investigating following an incident where a girl was assaulted in the Aveley/South Ockenden area,” an Essex Police spokesman said.

“Shortly after 5 p.m., we received a call. A girl had been grabbed by a man on Stifford Road about 15 minutes earlier at 25pm on Wednesday, November 24. “The girl has not been injured..”
