Is Maya Jama Really Going To Host Love Island?

You may be wondering who will host Love Island’s two upcoming seasons in 2023 after Laura Whitmore announced she was leaving ITV2’s well-liked dating program. On August 1, the former host announced. 22 that she will be departing from Love Island due to other work obligations, leaving hosting responsibilities open.

Fans quickly began speculating on potential candidates for the role on social media. There were a ton of suggestions on Twitter, including former Islanders and other seasoned hosts from other reality shows. When Whitmore initially announced her departure, the front-runner was Love Island 2022 winner Ekin-Su Cülcülolu. Even though it would be incredible, it is unlikely given the projects she has lined up since she and Davide Sanclimenti won.

On Oct. 1 An unconfirmed report from The Sun appeared to indicate that Maya Jama, who has long been rumored to be ITV’s top choice for hosting duties, had been chosen. The broadcaster told Bustle that it would announce Jama’s appointment as Love Island’s new host “in due course,” but for the time being, the report appears to be just a rumor. It wouldn’t be the first time, though, that viewers have requested Jama to host the well-liked program. She was pleased when it was suggested that Jama host Love Island in 2020. Jama said on the The Reality Tea podcast on BBC Radio 1 at the time, “It’s a nice feeling that people want you to do something. It’s nice that people have faith in you to perform well in your role on such a significant platform.

Of course, Cülcülolu and Jama aren’t the only candidates, despite the fact that Twitter is fairly certain Jama has the job already. Other names that have been mentioned include former Islander Maura Higgins, Sam Thompson from Made in Chelsea, Alison Hammond, and even Gemma Collins.
