Job of Bills Return Specialist in Danger After Draft: Report

“McKenzie has proven to be a presence on offense, so even with Khalil Shakir joining the Bills in Round 5, McKenzie has a path to the roster,” he wrote. “However, because Shakir can also return kicks, Stevenson will face an additional challenge in making the team.”

In his limited return attempts last season, Stevenson didn’t stand out much. Last season, he played only six snaps on offense and returned 14 punts for a 9.4-yard average and seven kicks for a 23.6-yard average. In the preseason, he showed some promise by returning a punt 79 yards for a touchdown.

Stevenson could be competing with wide receiver Jake Kumerow for the final roster spot, according to Buffalo Bills radio host Joe DiBiase, which could be a challenge given Kumerow’s importance on special teams.
