After his third wife, Christine Brown, left him in Sister Wives, Kody Brown felt he had to regain control and declares that they must “conform to patriarchy again.” He tells his wife that they must “conform to patriarchy again.”
Kody believes that his wives don’t regard him as the household’s head.
In the episode airing on October 2, Kody expresses his displeasure with Christine’s handling of their divorce. If I didn’t stay at her house, she didn’t ask if I was alright. She merely warned me not to. She did not ask my permission before moving my belongings. She didn’t ask my permission before moving to Utah and taking Truely; she just did it. He says, “She just told me she was going to do it.
Kody believes that his handling of the family was a failure. He admitted, “I’m disappointed in how I handled this. He wishes he had taken the “reins” and prioritized their dependence on him instead of themselves.
Kody desires that his wives “return to patriarchy.”
In a preview for the Sister Wives episode airing on October 2, Kody tells his wives that it’s time for him to regain control. “I’m going to take back control of my family. I won’t let that be done around me, Kody declares.

“So, if everyone wants to fit in, back to patriarchy. I suppose because I’ve been working so hard to please everyone, says Kody. He continues by claiming that by trying to appease each of his wives, he has become “bitter.” He lost the family he “thought about and designed” along the way.
Janelle says she didn’t sign up for ‘patriarchy.’
His wives gave Kody’s monologue a few perplexed looks. Yes, Janelle admitted to the cameras, “I didn’t know I’d signed up for patriarchy, but that’s not what we all agree on in the beginning.
Kody disagrees, though. Janelle, ironically, did register for patriarchy. She wholeheartedly consented to put her foot in my path when she and I agreed that she would join the family because I had to be the family’s head, according to Kody.
Is it too late for Kody to demand respect from his wives? He says, “I’m at a point now in my life where I don;t have time to waste on people who won;t respect me or treat me with respect.”
