Man, 31, faces murder charges after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car.

After a pedestrian was killed in a collision with a car, a man will appear in court charged with murder.

According to South Yorkshire Police, Jermaine Richards, of Wordsworth Drive in Sheffield, has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and criminal mischief.

According to the police, a car and a pedestrian were involved in a collision on Cricket Inn Road in Park Hill, Sheffield, at around 5.50 am on Saturday.

David Ford, who was identified by the police as the victim, passed away as a result of his wounds, and another man was assaulted and suffered serious injuries.

Richards, 31, has been remanded in custody until his Monday court appearance in Sheffield.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), according to South Yorkshire Police, has received a mandatory self-referral regarding the investigation.

Police interactions with Richards before the incident led to the referral to the IOPC.
