When James Gandolfini passed away in 2013, the world lost not only a great actor, but also the Tony Soprano character. Since the premiere of The Sopranos in 1999, both the actor and the character who made him famous have become synonymous with one another. The show aired for a total of six seasons. When Michael Gandolfini’s father died on a trip to Italy in 2013, he was only 14 years old. Since then, he has followed in James’ footsteps and has pursued a career as an actor. The younger Gandolfini is now starring in The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel to HBO’s beloved mob show.
