After being taken over by new Saudi owners, Newcastle are reportedly targeting a January move for Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette. After their £305 million takeover last week, the Toon are expected to spend heavily in the January transfer window. Newcastle are currently in 19th place in the Premier League and are expected to take drastic action in the January transfer window to avoid relegation.

And it appears they’ve set their sights on Arsenal’s out-of-favor forward Lacazette.

The Frenchman has fallen out of favor under Mikel Arteta this season, and his contract expires in just eight months, indicating that he will be free to leave next summer. Alexandre Lacazette’s time at Arsenal appears to be coming to an end

but, according to Spanish publication Fichajes, Newcastle could offer him a six-month extension.

The newly-rich Premier League club is rumored to be ready to sign him in January for a bargain price, or when he becomes a free agent in the summer. Toon bosses are thought to have drawn up a ten-man shortlist of star players, including Lacazette, who they want to sign in the coming windows.

Former West Ham, Celtic, and Scotland striker Frank McAvennie has condemned Arteta’s treatment of Lacazette this season, insisting he still hаs whаt it tаkes to plаy аt the top level. McAvennie told Footbаll Insider, “You cаn’t leаve а plаyer like thаt out.” “It mаkes no sense to me..”
