Part-time employment increases with UBI

UBI opponents claim that cash payments deter people from working; however, analyses of the Alaska Permanent Fund income transfer program show that the payments had no negative impact on employment.

Part-time job opportunities increased by 17%.

According to Drexel.edu, concerns about whether or not people are “willing to work” are based on faulty labor perceptions.

Employers, on the other hand, are concerned that employees will refuse to work because of low pay and unsafe working conditions.

UBI will challenge low-paying occupations and persuade businesses to pay a livable wage and provide health and family benefits in order to recruit and retain workers.
