Peter Alexander, who normally hosts the weekend edition of the show, has been noticeably absent from the morning broadcast and his social media accounts since this morning.

Peter Alexander, the weekend host for THE Today Show, has vanished without a trace.
His co-host Kristen Welker and Joe Fryer were behind the desk on Saturday, but he was nowhere to be found.

Saturdays on Today with Peter are typically hosted by Kristen.
She is also a White House correspondent for NBC.
When Today’s regular host is unavailable, Peter takes over as Chief White House Correspondent.
This weekend, however, he missed work at one of his jobs because Joe Fryer was filling in for him.
Joe is a reporter for NBC’s Weekend Today, MSNBC, and NBC’s Nightly News.
On Saturdays, he takes over Carson Daly’s POPStart segment.
Nobody mentioned Peter or offered an explanation for his absence.
Similarly, the host has been radio silent on social media since March 8. His last Instagram post was made that day.
He also hasn’t tweeted since March 15.
HERE TODAY, GONE TOMORROW
During the absence of Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, regular hosts Kristen and Peter filled in.
Even regulars like Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, Carson Daly, and Al Roker were absent.
They stayed for two weeks straight while the regular anchors went on vacation and came back after the new year.
Weatherman Dylan Dreyer was the only regular host to make an appearance.
Jacob Soboroff joined the substitute hosts for a little while.
THROWING STONES
While Jacob and Dylan filled in for co-host Craig on the air, they had a good time making fun of his dance moves.
In the final moments of a segment, Kristen said, “Oh, that’s perfect for Craig, he’s got the good moves.”
Jacob asked, “What Craig Melvin are you talking about?” as Dylan erupted in laughter.
I don’t know, he can move!” Kristen defended Craig, saying.

Jacob said, “I shouldn’t throw stones,” and then he burst out laughing.
During the summer, he got in trouble for some erratic behavior on national television.
