Photos: Nia Long Makes First Public Appearance Following Cheating Scandal With Son Kez, 11

Nia Long made her first appearance in the media following Ime Udoka, the head coach of the Boston Celtics, being suspended for allegedly having a consensual relationship with a female employee of his NBA team. The adored 45-year-old actress, who gained fame in 90s classics like Love Jones and Boyz N The Hood, ventured out in Los Angeles on Saturday (October 1) with her son Kez, 11, whom she shares with Ime, for some retail therapy. At the time, Nia didn’t seem to be sporting her engagement ring.

A week ago, the celebrity broke her silence regarding the news of Ime and issued a statement in which she thanked her supporters for their support during the controversy. In a statement to HollywoodLife, Nia said, “The outpouring love and support from family, friends, and the community during this difficult time means so much to me. “While I process the recent events, I kindly ask that my privacy be respected. Nia also has a son with her ex, actor Massai Dorsey, who is 21 years old. I am a mother first and foremost and will continue to put my children first.

The Celtics suspended Ime for the entire 2022–2023 season after alleging that he had broken “team policies” in a statement made public in late September. Ime’s position on the team will be reviewed, they added. Ime contacted people after the news was released toESPN. I’m sorry for disappointing our team, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family, the player said. “I apologize for putting the team in this challenging situation, and I accept the decision made by the team. I won’t say anything more out of respect for everyone involved.

Nia expressed her admiration for her beau, with whom she started dating in 2010 and became engaged in 2016, when Ime was promoted to head coach last year after serving as an assistant for nine years. He’s among the most orderly people I know. She said at the time, “He’s worked really hard for this and now he just has to get to work with his players and do what he does best. So, for our family, being able to watch from the stands is exciting.
