‘Sex and the City’ may not have mentioned holidays, but it did pay tribute to New York City events.

Fans watched Carrie Bradshaw and her friends navigate life in Manhattan for six seasons, but they never saw the ladies share a Thanksgiving meal or even deal with Valentine’s Day as single women. The show’s writers worked extremely hard to keep the storyline free of New York City’s seasonal changes. While the writers actively avoided holidays, they did not shy away from commemorating some significant New York events in Sex and the City .

Fleet Week was the subject of one episode of ‘Sex and the City.’

Sex and the City featured New York City as the fifth main character. Nothing is more popular in Manhattan than the annual Fleet Week. The event was featured in one episode of the series by the writers.
