Standings after the fifth match between Pakistan’s women and Bangladesh’s women

On Monday, October 3, at the Sylhet Outer Cricket Stadium in Sylhet, the fifth match of the Women’s Asia Cup T20 2022 pitted Pakistan Women against Bangladesh Women. With a strong effort, Pakistan easily defeated Bangladesh.

Pakistan chose to bowl first, and as they moved through the batting order, their bowlers wrecked havoc in Bangladesh’s camp. In their 20 overs, the hosts never got going and could only muster 70 runs while losing eight wickets.

Pakistan’s batters then came into their own, and Sidra Ameen, who was still unbeaten at 36, helped her team chase down the total in the 13th over.

With that comprehensive victory, Pakistan Women kept the top spot in the standings. They now have four points after winning both of their games. After their significant victory over the hosts, the team also increased their net run rate to +3.059.

Having played one fewer match than their bitter rivals, Pakistan, India Women are positioned below them in the standings. The Women in Blue have two points after winning their first game.

Bangladesh lost badly to Pakistan because they were unable to maintain the momentum they had gained from winning the first game. With two points, they are positioned in third place.

Bangladesh is followed in the points table by Sri Lanka Women. They currently have a net run rate of -1.131 and two points. United Arab Emirates Women are ranked below them in fifth after losing their opening match to Sri Lanka Women.

Both Malaysia Women and Thailand Women lost their respective opening matches, and as a result, they are ranked sixth and seventh in the points table, respectively. In their upcoming match, they will be attempting to record the competition’s first victory.

Bangladesh’s batters falter against Pakistan Women

Pakistani women asked Bangladesh women to bat first, but they were unable to adjust to the circumstances. They only managed to score 70 runs at the end of their innings while losing eight wickets, and none of their batters displayed any intent.

They lost badly to Pakistan because they were unable to hold on to the low total. In order to win again, Bangladesh will need to be at their best in their upcoming match.

Meanwhile, Pakistani women continued their winning streak against the hosts. They easily defeated Malaysia in their opening match, and they put on a show against Bangladesh to earn their second straight victory.

With their two victories, they will be ecstatic and hope to keep winning at the Women’s Asia Cup T20 in 2022.
