Parys Haralson, a former San Francisco 49ers linebacker and member of the franchise’s staff, has died at the age of 37. The cause of death has yet to be determined.
Haralson was drafted in the fifth round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, and he spent seven seasons with the team before joining the New Orleans Saints in 2013. Haralson finished his career with 28 sacks, 275 tackles (49 for loss), and 63 quarterback hits. Haralson’s attention turned to off-the-field matters after his playing career ended, and he became the 49ers director of player engagement. “The 49ers are heartbroken and shocked by the news of Parys’ tragic passing,” the team said in a statement. ”
