This mother-daughter team on “Dancing With the Stars” might engage in some “smack talk” as they compete for a mirrorball in season 31.

Two of the celeb cast members of Dancing with the Stars’ season 31 have made their official debuts. The long-running competition series is prepared to return to the ballroom after moving from its ABC home to the streaming platform Disney+. However, the show’s first celebrity contestants admitted they might engage in some “smack talk” as they go head-to-head for the mirrorball trophy.

Which pros will return to the series this season?

Several well-known professionals are reportedly returning for season 31.

Witney Carson, Cheryl Burke, Peta Murgatroyd, Koko Iwasaki, Daniella Karagach, and Britt Stewart are among the cast members. Val Chmerkovskiy, Alan Bersten, Artem Chigvintsev, Gleb Savchenko, Sasha Farber, Louis Van Amstel, Brandon Armstrong, and Pasha Pashkov are male professionals who compete alongside famous opponents.

Initially, Farber was a member of the Dancing with the Stars team this season. He has since returned to pro status, though.

This season’s host and co-hosts are Tyra Banks and Alfonso Ribeiro. Celebrities and professionals are judged by Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough.

This mother/daughter duo is a ‘DWTS’ first

The D’Amelio Show’s Charli and Heidi D’Amelio, mother and daughter, were shocked when they first got the call from Dancing with the Stars inviting them to compete. During their official cast reveal, Heidi made a joke to Michael Strahan of Good Morning America, saying, “We thought we [their reality show] were getting canceled.”

As the first mother and daughter team to compete in the series, Charli said she was “thrilled” and “excited.” However, some smack talking might be used as they compete against one another in the ballroom.

She is my mother, so I can’t be too harsh and I have to respect her, Charli said, adding that it would be nice to have some smack talk.

Charli expressed her desire to use her well-known TikTok moves when asked if they would be used. She is eager to work on the more difficult aspects of ballroom dancing, though. What about Heidi, a former high school dance competitor? She envisions learning new choreography as similar to “riding a bike.”

Season 31 of “Dancing with the Stars” will see these adjustments.

According to TV Line, there won’t be any commercials during the entirety of the reality show’s 31st season. The stage crew typically moved sets and cleaned up any confetti from performances during Dancing with the Stars commercial breaks.

Without those 4-minute breaks, there might be even more hustling behind the scenes. During commercial breaks, both celebrities and professionals changed into new attire.

As a result, it is more important than ever for hosts Banks and Ribeiro to maintain a smooth show. The two will draw attention away from the background activity. They must also maintain a schedule for the show.

Like when Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews hosted, audience members may anticipate more post-performance interviews. For audience interaction with the performers, the show used a different area of the set.

The 31st season of Dancing with the Stars premieres on Disney+ in September. 19.

Fans of “Dancing With the Stars” believe these celebrity competitors will change the show after well-known pros leave.
