Every cloud has a silver lining, and the weather is expected to warm up by the weekend, according to the Met Office.
The official figures for April will be released tomorrow, according to Dr. Mark McCarthy of the National Climate Information Centre.
“What we’ve seen in April is a long period of time with the UK under the influence of high pressure, which has brought calm and settled weather, particularly in the south,” he said.
“The Azores High dominated the weather in the south early in the month, while low-pressure systems continued to make progress in the north.”
“High pressure remained dominant later in the month, but this time it was focused more on Scandinavia or Iceland, as well as the UK itself.”
“All of this adds up to a dry month, with scattered showers having limited impact in northern areas.”
