A NEW CHILD TAX CREDIT PROGRAM IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS, and the deadline is approaching quickly.
Governor Ned Lamont recently signed the new child tax credit into law as part of Connecticut’s budget bill.
Families who qualify for the credit will receive a maximum rebate of $250, capped at three children for a total of $750. Applications will open on June 1st.
Eligible families can now apply for the “2022 CT Child Tax Rebate” through the Department of Revenue Service’s portal.
Applications are due by July 31, and Governor Lamont said in a press release that payments will be made in late August, around the start of the school year.
“I strongly urge all eligible Connecticut families to apply so that the rebate can be sent to you as soon as possible,” Lamont said.
