Viviane Dieye, the ex-husband of Saudi Arabia manager Herve Renard, is a lucky World Cup charm because he was the manager of Senegal during their historic 2002 victory over France.
At the World Cup in Qatar, Frenchman Renard, 54, led Saudi Arabia to a historic upset by defeating one of the favorites, Argentina, 2-1.
Partner Viviane, however, was previously wed to former Senegal manager Bruno Metsu, who led the African country to a victory over the reigning world champions France in the first round 20 years ago.
Metsu sadly died from cancer in 2013.
After Metsu’s passing, Renard and Viviane—who shared three children between them—became romantically involved with the Saudi manager in charge of Morocco at the time.
Additionally, the couple is reportedly getting hitched soon.
Candice, one of Renard’s three children, has made a name for herself in France by participating in a number of reality TV programs.
The 25-year-old, however, has had a negative football experience because while her father was managing Morocco, she was the victim of a vicious assault.
After a game in the Ivory Coast, Candice was attacked after becoming involved in a brawl between incensed home fans.
Renаrd wаs neаrly in teаrs аfter the incident, during which she wаs struck with bаtons аnd lаter cаrried аwаy on а stretcher.
