West Ham is attempting to outbid Roma for the services of imposing former Dortmund defender Dan-Axel Zagadou.

WEST HAM is monitoring the progress of imposing French center-back Dan-Axel Zagadou.

The former Borussia Dortmund star, who stands 6 feet 5 inches tall, is now a free agent after two Bundesliga seasons marred by injuries.

And he is currently talking to several clubs.

If they can work out the salary, Jose Mourinho’s Roma and Inter Milan are considering signing the 23-year-old.

And the Irons are also interested.

They see Zagadou as a squad member and a perfect backup in case Issa Diop, 25, decides to leave.

He is the target of a bid from Fulham, a rival team in London.

Prior to a string of injury issues, Zagadou was a highly regarded defender.

In 2017, he transferred from Paris Saint-Germain to Dortmund.

In the end, the center back scored four goals in 92 games.

Following Nayef Aguerd’s ankle surgery last month, Zagadou might enter West Ham’s lineup right away.

However, Mourinho’s Roma are also a seductive option now that they have signed exciting contracts with Paulo Dybala and Gini Wijnaldum.

Also on The Special One’s wish list is Italian international Andrea Belotti, who West Ham turned down in favor of Gianluca Scamacca.
