Nonetheless, he scored a goal as the Gunners thrashed Crystal Palace in their Premier League debut.

Furthermore, Arteta has admitted that Martinelli told him he wanted to play in the game.

The reaction he showed after missing a penalty on Thursday shocked him, he said to BBC Sport.

I asked him how he was doing yesterday and he said, “I want to be in the team.” “There is always the question,” he said.

The final score was 2-0, with the Englishman Granit Xhaka scoring both goals, and the Japanese defender Bukayo Saka adding the other.

Arteta was “impressed” by what he saw as the team worked to forget Thursday’s setback.

The desire and energy we put in from the start was what impressed me the most,” he continued.

We had a strong resolve and concentration, and we put Thursday behind us.

“They’ve already played for 120 minutes, and now they have to come back here and do it again against a team with a lot of needs.

Palace have struggled to find success as of late, but they remain a formidable opponent.

On the other hand, we were the better team and thoroughly deserved to win.

To paraphrase, “We defined the game in the right way today in the box when we had those openings.”

With this victory, Arsenal now has an eight-point advantage over Man City in the league.

Arteta acknowledged the accomplishment but said the team’s attention is on the upcoming Premier League match.

Especially considering how we’ve played and the wins we’ve picked up, it feels very good,” he said.
