Fans of the high-flying financial drama Billions won’t have to wait long for Season 6 of the show. At a recent TCA session, Showtime CEO Gary Levine stated as much. Due to the pandemic, the network halted the show in the first quarter of 2020. As a result, the remaining episodes of Season 5 were released this past September 5. Billions is back like the phoenix rising from the ashes. Following the successful airing of the second part of Season 5 last month, Season 6 is set to premiere on January 23, 2022. Despite the year-long break, Levine has assured fans that they will be able to pick up where the actors left off. Fans of the show will be relieved that the pandemic did not alter the plot. Levine admits that he and his crew made some changes while filming the final five episodes, but insists that they stuck to the original plan. Levine revealed that the actors and creative team behind the success of Billions shot the second half of Season 5 and all of Season 6 at the same time. COVID-19 nearly threw the production schedule off, but it provided the writers with much-needed time to work on the storyline in a safe environment. There would be new protocols, production concerns, and the availability of the various actors, but the production would go on regardless.
