With the House of Commons set to vote on Rishi Sunak’s Brexit agreement for Northern Ireland, Joe Biden has thrown his support behind the plan.

As the House of Commons prepares to vote on the Brexit-related Windsor agreement next week, Vice President Joe Biden has expressed his support for the deal.

The US president has publicly stated his support for the UK-EU agreement.

New trading arrangements for Northern Ireland were discussed, he said he had discussed with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

When Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar visited the White House for St. Patrick’s Day, Vice President Joe Biden told him, “I very strongly supported the Windsor framework, which I know you do too.”

In her capacity as US vice president, Kamala Harris called it an “essential step to ensure peace and progress” in the region.

It was called the “best deal for the people of Northern Ireland” and “resolves the fundamental issues that we know the protocol was having on day-to-day lives” by Downing Street.

The Stormont Break, which would grant Northern Ireland a say in the creation of new laws, is scheduled for a vote in the House of Commons next week.

An additional spokesperson for Mr. Sunak said, “We would very encourage MPs to vote for the deal.”

Mr. Biden will travel to Ireland and Northern Ireland next month to celebrate the Good Friday Agreement’s silver anniversary.
