A former member of the NYPD has blasted the agency as the “worst ever” on social media. Thomas J Gambardella, a 20-year veteran who resigned from his position two weeks ago, posted a picture of himself giving the finger at a memorial inside the New York Police Department (NYPD) headquarters while sporting a “Let’s Go Brandon” T-shirt.
He declared in a post at the time, “I’m officially retired today! “From this pitiful excuse for a job. Thank God, I’m at last free! I loved every person I worked with and “some” of the employers I’ve had the pleasure of serving. But nobody has a friend in this job. Time to enjoy freedom. I’ll see you all there!” The statue he criticized in the post depicts a police officer keeping an eye on a dead cop’s child.
Numerous NYPD detectives have left the force as a result of growing frustration with the agency’s policing policies.
