ANY parent knows the nightmare of discovering your little one has gotten their hands on a permanent marker and doodled on your walls. But you might be able to remove it after all – and no, you won’t need to repaint your walls either.

Dustin Hadley stumbled across a hack online that claimed to solve the problem, and he was convinced it was too good to be true. So, he decided to put it to the test, and much to his surprise, it really did work. Using spray sunscreen, Dustin covered the permanent marker on his wall, then used a cloth to scrub it. At first, he wasn’t sure it was going to totally remove the Sharpie he used, but after repeating the process a few times, the marker vanished.

Altogether, it took six coats of sunscreen, but since most people already have some in their cupboards, it’s a much cheaper way to solve the problem than repainting the spot. Dustin remarked, “A little bit of elbow grease… a lot of elbow grease, it does work.” He even jokingly added, “This would’ve saved me weeks and weeks of being grounded when I was a kid.”

According to House Digest, the hack doesn’t just work on painted walls, but laminate flooring too. It can also be used to remove permanent marker stains from skin. However, the hack won’t work on wooden floors, clothes, and dry erase boards. Other Instagram users were amazed by the hack and shared other tricks they swear by, such as using 70% isopropyl alcohol or hand sanitizer.

In conclusion, if you find yourself facing the nightmare of permanent marker on your walls, don’t despair. Give the spray sunscreen hack a try and save yourself the hassle and expense of repainting.
