After a shooting near Sam Houston High School, the school and two others were placed on lockdown.


A shooting near a high school occurred on Monday afternoon, injuring one person.

Police located the victim and rushed them to the hospital; however, their condition is unknown. It’s unclear whether the individual is a student or not.

Gunshots erupted near Sam Houston High School, which was quickly locked down as a result.

Police confirmed that the shooting happened near the school and not on campus, and that no students were in immediate danger.

Police were assisting the school with a “structured and controlled release” of students at 30 p.m. As cops searched for the suspect or suspects, Atherton Elementary and Adams Elementary Schools were both locked down. Deputy Chief Chris Cook told

that several shots were fired.

A bullet hole was discovered in an abandoned car nearby.
