BORIS Johnson’s mother died “suddenly and peacefully” on Monday evening at the age of 79. Charlotte Johnson Wahl, a professional painter, died on Monday in a London hospital, the Prime Minister confirmed last night.

At the age of 40, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, but she continued to paint and remarried in 1988. According to the Telegraph, the PM described his mother as the “supreme authority” in his family and credited her with instilling in him the value of every human life.
