Do not prepare weddings up until Boris Johnson has made 21 June lockdown statement, preacher states

Couples should hold off booking large weddings until the Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed all restrictions will be lifted, a minister has said.

Current lockdown rules limit the number of wedding guests to 30 people but all restrictions are due to be lifted in England on 21 June.

Weddings booked for after the 21 June date have not had to abide by the limitations – but these could be thrown into disarray if the Government takes the decision to push back the “unlockdown” amid rising Covid-19 cases.

As the Government continues to review whether to go ahead with the scheduled reopening, Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick advised eager couples to wait for the Prime Minister’s announcement before expending their guest lists.
