On Wednesday, September 15, US Olympic gymnasts Simone Biles, McKayla Maroney, and Aly Raisman testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee about the Inspector General’s report on the FBI’s handling of the investigation into the disgraced Olympic doctor Larry Nassar’s sexual abuse of Olympic gymnasts. The athletes accused the FBI of “burying their reports” and “covering up Larry Nassar’s wrongdoings.” In her testimony, McKayla Maroney stated, “USA Gymnastics, in collaboration with the FBI and the Olympic Committee, were working together to conceal the fact that Larry Nassar was a predator.” “What’s the point of reporting abuse if our own FBI agents are going to file it away in a drawer?” ” she went on to say.

In an emotional testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles “blamed” the entire system for allowing Larry Nassar to sexually abuse her and hundreds of other young women and girls. “To be clear, I blame Larry Nassar, as well as the entire system that enabled and perpetrated his abuse. ” Biles claimed that USA Gymnastics and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee “knew she was being abused by their official team doctor but did nothing.” All of the athletes who testified on Wednesday, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, and Maggie Nichols, as well as Simon Biles, were sexually abused by Nassar while he worked as an athletic doctor. ‘How much is a little girl worth?’

They would rаther protect а seriаl child molester thаn protect not only me but other children, so they chose to lie аbout whаt I sаid аnd protect а seriаl child molester. I told them (the FBI) thаt I woke up completely nаked on top of him (Lаrry Nаssаr). I informed them thаt he hаd molested me shortly before I received my gold medаl.
