LIVE results from the California recall election – Gavin Newsom wins by a landslide, and Larry Elder delivers a concession speech.

GAVIN Newsom will be re-elected governor of California after his Republican opponent Larry Elder conceded defeat in the recall election on Tuesday.

Projections show that the “No” campaign will win the election with around 66 percent of the votes counted. Californians “rejected cynicism and bigotry and chose hope and progress,” Gov. Newsom told Democrats in Sacramento. He claimed that voters had voted “yes” to science, vaccines, and the end of the Covid pandemic. Meanwhile, radio host Elder urged his supporters to be “gracious” in their defeat.
