Amber Heard gave her first interview since losing a defamation case to Johnny Depp to NBC’s Savannah Guthrie. Michael Feldman, Guthrie’s husband, worked as a consultant for Depp’s legal team, it was later revealed.
On June 1, a Virginia jury unanimously found that Heard, 36, defamed Depp, 58, in a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post in which she described herself as a victim of domestic abuse. Heard was ordered to pay $15 million in damages, including $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, but according to Virginia state law, the punitive damages were reduced to $350,000. The jury also agreed to Heard’s claim of defamation when Depp’s lawyer Waldman called her abuse allegations a “hoax,” awarding her compensatory damages of $2 million.
‘He is a beloved character and fantastic actor,’ Amber Heard says of the jury’s decision to support Johnny Depp.
Eve Barlow is curious as to why Johnny Depp does not tell his fans to stop harassing her online.
