Most significant 2022 American Music Awards winners, milestones, and snubs

On Sunday, November 20, the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California hosted the American Music Awards 2022.

Wayne Brady, an actor and comedian, presided over the ceremony while also practicing for the Dancing With the Stars 2022 grand finale.

Numerous celebrities attended, including Lionel Richie, who received the Icon Award that evening, as well as Kelly Rowland, Ellie Goulding, Smokey Robinson, and Charlie Puth.

Richie, Puth, and Stevie Wonder collaborated to perform a medley of Richie’s greatest hits during the award show. Other performers included Bebe Rexha, Imagine Dragons, GloRilla and Cardi B, Carrie Underwood, and Pink.

Taylor Swift, whose tenth studio album, Midnights, was just released, had a historic evening by becoming the first performer to win 40 American Music Awards. She won six awards, including Favorite Female Pop Artist and Favorite Pop Album, winning in every category in which she was nominated.

Michael Jackson, who has 26 wins, and Whitney Houston, who has 22 wins, are the artists with the most American Music Awards after Swift.

Even though Swift had enormous success, The Weeknd, who was nominated for Favorite Male R&B Artist and Favorite R&B Album or Dawn FM, was accused of being “robbed” by many of his fans on social media.

The Idol stаr аnd musiciаn, reаl nаme Abel Tesfаye, wаs nominаted for five аwаrds, but he didn’t win аny of them.
