Sean Kuilan is who? Vandal “exacting revenge” for a girl friend by throwing bricks at a gay bar in New York

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Police say a man who is accused of throwing a number of bricks at an LGBT club in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen on November 22 was acting out of retaliation. He was apprehended at his home. Sean Kuilan, 34, was charged with three separate counts of criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon after throwing bricks through the pub’s windows for a week. He has not yet faced a hate crime trial.

James Essig, the NYPD’s Chief of Detectives, told the New York Post that Kuilan allegedly threw the bricks repeatedly as a result of a disagreement a female friend had with the business. “Basically, what he says [is] he knows a girl who had a problem with one of the guys in the bar and he was “exacting revenge,”” the police said. “As of now, we don’t have any reason to believe it is [a hate crime].” Police had previously released a video showing the man throwing a brick at the glass of the bar over the weekend. According to owner David DeParolesa, this was the establishment’s fourth recent encounter with hate crimes. On November 22, Kuilan was taken into custody at his home, which is only a block from the bar and close to 9th Avenue.
