Her dazzling ensemble included a star-studded black catsuit, a mini dress, and – most notably – an 88-pound Swarovski crystal-encrusted skirt. “How do I feel in the dress?”

It’s definitely heavy, but it makes me feel beautiful, strong, and empowered,” Biles, who was a guest of Athleta at the gala, told Vogue while trying on the hefty ensemble.

Creating the ensemble may have been an Olympic feat in and of itself; Panszczyk told the fashion magazine that over 100 people worked on the pieces for 6,6500 hours, finishing them “around 4 a.m.” m.” on the eve of the big event.

“I personally don’t think anyone’s dress is going to be better than mine,” Biles said of the awe-inspiring ensemble, which included more than 17,000 feet of crystal chains.

“I’m sure everyone feels like that going in,” she continued, “but this is going to be а stаtement.”
