Quadruple Murder in Romeoville: Alberto Rolon, Zoraida Bartolomei, and Their Children Found Shot Dead

A tragic incident unfolded in Romeoville, Illinois when Alberto Rolon and Zoraida Bartolomei, along with their two young children, were discovered shot to death inside their suburban home. Law enforcement authorities suspect a quadruple murder took place, leaving the community shocked and grieving.

A Devastating Discovery

Police officers from Romeoville arrived at the family’s residence on Sunday, September 17, around 8.40 pm for a welfare check. It was then that they made the grim discovery of the lifeless bodies of 32-year-old Bartolomei, Rolon, and their two children. In a horrific act of violence, the three family dogs were also found dead in the home.

According to the NY Post, the authorities were alerted to the situation after one family member did not show up to work at 6 am, causing concern among their loved ones. The investigation into this tragic event has only just begun, and authorities are diligently working on finding answers.

Investigation Underway

Romeoville Deputy Police Chief Chris Burne addressed the media during a press conference streamed by NBC Chicago. He stated that there is currently no evidence suggesting a murder-suicide and that the case is being treated as a murder. Authorities believe that the shootings occurred between 9 pm on Saturday and 5 am on Sunday.

Due to the significant amount of time that has passed, law enforcement is not currently asking residents to shelter in place or actively searching for any suspects in the area. The investigation will continue to determine who is responsible for this devastating quadruple murder.

The Shocked Community

The Romeoville neighborhood is in a state of shock following the tragic incident. Alberto Rolon and Zoraida Bartolomei had recently moved into the area with their children and were well-liked by their neighbors. The two children attended RC Hill Elementary School, and the school district superintendent expressed her condolences to the community.

The couple’s loved ones are left devastated and searching for answers. Zoraida’s mother, Lydia, spoke to Daily Mail from her home in Puerto Rico and expressed her disbelief and heartbreak. She had spoken to her daughter shortly before the tragedy occurred and could not understand why anyone would want to harm them.

Neighbors also expressed their shock and grief, remembering the couple as friendly and respectful. Lynn Phillips, who lived next door, said, “I’m devastated. I’ve been crying on and off all day.” Carol Love, another neighbor, shared similar sentiments, stating, “They were nice people. They didn’t bother anybody. I hope they find out who did it.”

As the community mourns, law enforcement authorities are determined to bring justice to Alberto Rolon, Zoraida Bartolomei, and their children. The investigation continues, and anyone with information related to the case is urged to come forward and assist the authorities in their pursuit of justice.
