003 CADAVER-SCENTED K9s have reportedly been brought in to search for Brian Laundrie at a Florida nature preserve that has been at the center of the search for the fugitive van-lifer.
Although search efforts inside the Carlton Reserve in Sarasota County appeared to be winding down in recent days, a hive of police activity was spotted at one of the park’s entrances on Thursday morning. At around 9.30 a.m., several law enforcement vehicles were spotted on the Venice end of the reserve, according to WFLA.
Two Pasco County Sheriff’s Office units were among the units seen at the scene. Two K9 units – a human remains detection (HRD) unit and a K9 trainer – were on the scene assisting the North Port Police Department, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI, according to a department spokesperson.
“We’ve sent the HRD K9s and patrol K9s (who are also trained to track missing people) a few times,” the spokesperson said.
“For more information, we’re one of the only law enforcement agencies in Florida with HRD K9s on stаff, so we’re frequently аsked to аssist in thаt cаpаcity throughout the stаte.” ”
