The Danish Royal Family’s Festive Holiday Celebrations

The Danish royal palace recently shared a festive solo snap of Crown Prince Frederik, as Crown Princess Mary was spotted at Sydney airport with the couple’s twins in preparation for the holiday season. As part of a daily countdown to Christmas, the royal household has been delighting fans with heartwarming glimpses of the royal family’s festivities, including a charming video of Frederik and Mary decorating the Christmas tree with their children. Additionally, Crown Prince Frederik was seen donning a colorful striped jumper and a shirt as he lit the royal house’s advent wreath, marking the start of the festive celebrations.

Mary’s Visit to Australia

While Frederik was in Denmark for the advent wreath lighting, Crown Princess Mary, along with the couple’s 12-year-old twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Isabella, traveled to Australia to spend time with her family ahead of the holiday season. Mary was pictured wearing a chic taupe blazer over a cream knit and rust-colored trousers with white trainers as she walked through Sydney airport with her children. According to reports, the royal mum-of-four plans to reunite with her husband, Crown Prince Frederik, and their 16-year-old daughter, Princess Isabella, for the holiday celebrations.

Educational Commitments

While the festive season brings the family together, it also comes with commitments for the royal children. Prince Christian, who recently turned 18, will remain in Denmark to focus on his education. As the second-in-line to the Danish throne, Christian is in the final year of his upper secondary education at Ordrup Gymnasium, demonstrating the royal family’s dedication to education and personal growth.

Christmas Celebrations and Reunions

The Danish royals are expected to celebrate Christmas at Marselisborg Palace in Aarhus, with Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, and their children returning from Washington DC to join the festivities. However, it’s noted that Joachim’s eldest son, Count Felix, will join the family on Christmas Day, while Count Nikolai will be in Australia for his studies, and there are no formal plans for a family reunion during that time.

Family Reunions and Future Plans

It’s heartwarming to witness the royal family coming together for the holidays, especially after navigating various commitments and educational pursuits. With the festive season unfolding, it’s a reminder of the importance of family, tradition, and the joy of creating lasting memories together.
